Frequently Asked Questions

NeuroLift provides comprehensive psychiatric care for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other mood or thought-related conditions. Our team understands that each individual’s experience is unique, which is why we create personalized treatment plans designed to address your specific symptoms, goals, and lifestyle needs.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an innovative, non-invasive, FDA-approved therapy for depression and other mood disorders. It works by delivering gentle, magnetic pulses to targeted regions of the brain responsible for mood regulation, particularly the prefrontal cortex. Unlike medications, TMS does not circulate through your bloodstream and therefore avoids many of the side effects often associated with antidepressants.
TMS sessions are performed in-office, typically lasting 20–40 minutes. Patients remain awake and alert throughout the procedure and can return to normal activities immediately afterward. Over the course of treatment, many patients experience significant improvement in mood, energy, and overall daily functioning.

Spravato® (esketamine) is a groundbreaking treatment option specifically designed for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) — when traditional antidepressants have not provided relief. Delivered as a nasal spray under medical supervision, Spravato® targets different neural pathways than standard medications, specifically acting on the glutamate system, which plays a critical role in mood regulation and neuroplasticity.
Patients often begin to notice improvements more rapidly than with traditional antidepressants, sometimes within hours or days. All Spravato® sessions at NeuroLift are closely monitored in a safe, comfortable setting, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.

Your first appointment at NeuroLift is focused on understanding your needs and building a clear treatment plan. During this visit, you can expect:

● A review of your medical history, mental health background, and current concerns

Honestly, I walked in with little hope and zero expectations. But between TMS and Spravato, I can genuinely say that for the first time in my life, the constant chaos in my mind has finally quieted down. Mariana has been by my side through every step of this journey, and I truly don’t think I could have come this far without her. She wears so many hats in this place, juggling countless responsibilities, yet she still manages to go above and beyond for every single patient. Every visit, I find myself looking forward to her bright smile, unwavering support, and genuine compassion. She’s been a huge part of my healing, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I am an internal medicine resident who did a clinical/hospital rotation at the Bokhari Medical Consortium clinic. My objective will be to briefly focus on the medicine itself. I will then comment on the experience that this facility provides for patients. (I have no conflict of interest to report, my review benefits me in absolutely no way) It goes without saying that Dr. Bokhari and his staff are passionate about their profession. It’s obvious that significant investments were made to create an environment which strives to provide a well rounded mind/body approach and experience. From quantum analyzers to barometric pressure chambers to transcranial magnetic stimulation to ketamine micro-dosing (there’s even a med-spa wing for crying out loud) it’s all cutting edge and based on the most recent/and/or emerging data. The atmosphere is sophisticated and classy without coming off as pretentious. And although it might not mean much in the overall scheme of things, I must say, the lobby sofas could easily be slept in (very comfortable). When you walk in you’re immediately greeted by Marianna and Ashley, two of the kindest souls you’ll meet. Their smiles almost force you to mirror their energy. I’ve yet to see a patient walking in or out without looking visibly happier after having spoken to them. Zeinab (NP) is a primary medical point of care contact and does a tremendous job in terms of medication management but also as a genuine emotional support (something that simply can’t be faked). Finally there’s Dr Bokhari. The guy has just the amount of confidence you would want your doctor to have without it coming off as arrogant. He takes the time to personally explain advances in the fields of mental healthcare with extreme enthusiasm. He’s eloquent and personable and has a calming effect on those around him. His patients absolutely love him. You can tell that this is a place filled with people who love doing what they do. It’s very clear that they care about the emotional well being of their patients. They’ve masterfully created a safe place for people to openly be/and feel vulnerable and I think that’s a wonderful thing. Highly recommend!!!

My mental health journey brought me to Bokhari Medical Consortium a year ago. I had recently been diagnosed with Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD). I was at my lowest and did not see much hope for a happy future. Dr. Bokhari and his team used their expertise to educate me about the alternative treatments available for depression. With their guidance I was able to choose the best treatment for me. In less than a year, my quality of life has improved definitively. Without the support and expertise of Dr. Bokhari, Merisa, Leandro, Marianna and Courtney, I would not be thriving today. They go above and beyond in every way.

IN ASSOCIATION WITH BOKHARI MEDICAL
Two Divisions Committed to Your Health & Wellness
September News & Wellness Updates

Dear subscribers,

This September, we’re pleased to welcome two new members to our team. We’re also making room for a conversation about suicide prevention, recovery and asking for help. We hope this month’s updates help you feel more connected to our team and the care available to you.

Welcoming Two New Team Members
Aundrea Merchant, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, joining our Spring Hill team

We’re happy to welcome Aundrea Merchant, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, to our Spring Hill team. A dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, she brings more than 24 years of combined nursing experience.

Her background in behavioral health, primary care and chronic disease management informs a whole-person approach. Her psychiatric experience includes evaluations, medication management, supportive psychotherapy and individualized treatment planning.

Yoelis Folgoso, Medical Assistant at NeuroLift

We’re glad to welcome Yoelis Folgoso as a Medical Assistant. Working closely with our clinical providers, Yoelis supports Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato® and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy services. With a patient-centered approach, Yoelis helps patients feel informed, comfortable and supported throughout their visits.

Wellness Means Asking for Help

September is National Suicide Prevention Month and Recovery Month. Both remind us how much it matters to listen without judgment and help people connect with support. Recovery can look different for each person, and care may need to change along the way.

World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10 continues the 2024–2026 theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide.” A conversation can begin with a simple question: “How have you really been feeling?” Give the person time to answer, listen and help them reach support when needed.

Support is available now.
In the U.S., call or text 988, or chat with the 988 Lifeline for free, confidential support, 24/7. You can reach out for yourself or someone you care about. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
When Should You Talk to Your Primary Care Provider?

Changes in sleep, mood, energy or appetite are worth discussing when they persist or begin affecting daily life. A primary care provider can help explore possible physical contributors and connect you with mental health care when appropriate.

At our Spring Hill location, primary care and psychiatric services are available in the same place, so you can bring questions about your physical and mental well-being to our team.

You don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming to ask for help.

The Gratitude Pause

Take a moment to write down something you appreciated today. It might be a thoughtful message or a few quiet minutes outside. Keep it specific, and leave room for whatever else you’re feeling. If gratitude feels difficult right now, simply notice what helped you get through the day.

When Additional Support Is Needed

When symptoms persist, a clinical evaluation can help clarify what is happening and which options fit your needs. Depending on your assessment, care may include:

  • TMS Therapy: non-invasive magnetic stimulation used to treat depression, often when other treatments have not helped enough.
  • Spravato® (esketamine): a prescription nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression, administered in a healthcare setting with required supervision and monitoring.
  • Medication Management: ongoing review of your symptoms, treatment response and side effects, with adjustments based on your needs.

If you’d like to speak with our team, call us at (727) 238-3241. You can also complete this questionnaire to help us understand your needs.
